ImageWhat is your title and your job responsibilities?

My job title here at the Staten Island Yankees is Sales Executive. My main responsibility is to sell tickets, which could include season, group, or hospitality ticket packages. Not only do I sell tickets, but I also provide customer service to clients to ensure that they receive the best possible experience here at the Staten Island Yankees.

What do you enjoy most about working for the Staten Island Yankees?

There are 2 things I enjoy. First is the simple fact that when I arrive at work every morning, my office is a baseball stadium. Not a lot of people can say that. Second, my colleagues here are a great bunch of fun and energetic people that make working enjoyable.

Who is your favorite Staten Island Yankees player of the past?

A lot of people are probably going to say Robinson Cano or Brett Gardner, but my favorite Staten Island Yankee was Wily Mo Pena. When he played for the Cincinnati Reds, he hit home runs that are still traveling. He was fun to watch.

Describe the experience fans will encounter at Richmond County Bank Ballpark this summer.

There are plenty of different experiences that the fans will enjoy this season. Whether you are a fan of fireworks, promotional giveaways, or theme nights, this season has a lot to offer. Our fans are going to enjoy their experience in 2013 so much, that they are going to want to come back for many more years to come!

It’s been two weeks since our last Thank you Thursday post and after the Oklahoma Tornado earlier this week we have a lot to be thankful for after seeing another reminder on how devastating a natural disaster can be. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the Tornado.

With that said, Staten Island and the NYC Metro Area are still in recovery mode from Hurricane Sandy. The Staten Island Yankees have donated $11,167 to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The Staten Island Yankees also donated $10,000 in Shop Rite gift cards to families in Staten Island affected by Hurricane Sandy and an additional $184 to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation due to the Staten Island Yankees fans support of the 2013 season with plan sales in past 6 weeks. The grand total to date donated to helping make a difference in the lives of many Staten Island families affected by Hurricane Sandy by the Staten Island Yankees is $21,351.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your support of the Staten Island Yankees and helping make a difference in the lives of many affected by Hurricane Sandy.

My title is Director of Ticket Sales and Operations.  I am responsible for managing the day to day operations of the box office.  I also work closely with our VP of Ticket Sales and Team President to help craft our ticket packages and develop our strategic plan.  Another one of my responsibilities is to assist in coordinating team travel, housing and any other aspects of team operations.

What do you enjoy most about working for the Staten Island Yankees?

The part of my job that I enjoy the most is working collaboratively with our entire staff to put on the season.  Everyone that works here is very passionate and puts in a lot of hard work throughout the year.  It is a rewarding experience to see our operation run smoothly, knowing that we all have worked together to achieve our success.

Who is your favorite Staten Island Yankees player of the past?

My favorite Staten Island Yankees player of the past is Brett Gardner.  Since I have been working with the team, Brett was the first player that I saw play here that I knew had a great chance to make it to the Bronx.  He played with the same intensity and grit that he does now when he was with the Staten Island Yankees.

Describe the experience fans will encounter at Richmond County Bank Ballpark this summer.

Fans will encounter a fan friendly environment at affordable prices.  We have many great theme nights and giveaways planned such as Hometown Heroes, Throwback Night, 3 bobblehead giveaways and 3 replica jersey giveaways.  The Staten Island Yankees offer products available for everyone: flexible season ticket and mini plan packages, unique and affordable group products, and upscale hospitality products.  Fans will take in the best view in sports while watching the Baby Bombers make their run at their 6th NYPL championship.

My job title at the Staten Island Yankees is Sales Executive.  I am responsible for the selling and servicing of group ticket packages, season ticket packages, flex pinstripe plans and luxury suites. I also am responsible for generating new leads through prospecting, networking and referrals.  I also provide unsurpassed customer service for my clients and fans.

What do you enjoy most about working for the Staten Island Yankees?

The thing I most enjoy about working for the Staten Island Yankees is how passionate we all are about our jobs and that we provide the opportunity for families and friends to come out and enjoy a beautiful stadium and baseball game.

Who is your favorite Staten Island Yankees player of the past?

My favorite Staten Island Yankees player of the past has to be Robinson Cano.  Being a native Staten Islander, I remember seeing him play here when I was younger.  As a New York Yankee fan, I have obviously been able to still follow him and he has turned into the best second baseman in Major League Baseball today.

Describe the experience fans will encounter at Richmond County Bank Ballpark this summer.

The fan experience this summer will be a unique one.  You will be able to take in the great view of the New York City skyline with the enjoyment of watching the Baby Bombers, as well as fireworks on select nights. Our mascot Scooter and our on-field entertainment make for a great family environment.  And hopefully we can bring home another NY Penn League Championship!

New York Yankees Fantasy Camp with Helen McCullough

ImageWhat was your first day at Camp like? What did you do?

It was unbelievable…I got to go to the locker room that the New York Yankees use at spring training. Also, they took our team pictures with all the coaches.

If you could describe in one word your experience at Fantasy Camp, what would it be and why?

Overwhelming, I have so many reasons. Seeing your picture on the scoreboard and being announced when you come to bat was awesome.

What NYY legends were there?  Did they do most of the coaching?

Oscar Gamble, Homer Bush, Al Downing, Bucky Dent, Gil Patterson, Mike Torrez, Mickey Rivers, David Wells and Jorge Posada.

Yes, they did all the coaching. Each coach had their own team.

Any other comments, feedback you can give about your experience?

It was more amazing then I had expected. I had so much fun on and off the field with the coaches and teammates. I am going back next year! If you ever had a dream to play baseball with the New York Yankees this was it. I got to live that dream.

I am the Senior Vice-President of Corporate Sales and am responsible for securing new sponsors and promotional partners while working with corporations who have supported the Staten Island Yankees in previous seasons

What do you enjoy most about working for the Staten Island Yankees?

I like being able to be very creative and customizing marketing partnerships that meet the needs and objectives of both current and new sponsors and intricately weaving them into our fan-friendly and entertaining environment at the Ballpark.

Who is your favorite Staten Island Yankees player of the past?

Based on how I watch them now perform in the big leagues, I would have to say Brett Gardner and Robinson Cano.

Describe the experience fans will encounter at Richmond County Bank Ballpark this summer.

I am excited to see how our fans enjoy some of the new features that our corporate partners are bringing to the team and the park, specifically our Western Beef BBQ Pit, our new ShopRite Friends and Family Pack, our in-seat promotion with Domino’s Pizza, the College of Staten Island student section and in-game promotions like our Rab’s Country Lanes Human Bowling. Based on everything I have heard since arriving, I think that the fans will enjoy many of the new concepts we have developed in the off-season…with many more still to come!
